Hi everyone! I want to apologize for the lack of updates lately, I’m at that point in the semester where things are getting crazy busy. I’ll be doing another photo shoot soon, so expect some pictures! Also - I’ve officially passed the 100 follower mark!!! So thrilled that you guys love my fishies as much as I do :) They wave their little fins in hello!

aww! Thanks :) I’ll be trying to get another photoshoot done soon, so expect more pictures!
Speckle is in the quarantine tank, as she came down with dropsy-like symptoms last week. I think it’s a result of the boys chasing her around too roughly…in any case, she’s looking SO much better today! Here’s a vid of the little monster BEGGING for her Metro-Meds! Special thanks to Koko’s Goldfish Forum for all of their kind help :) If you have any questions about dropsy, feel free to ask! Or head over to Koko’s. They’re a wonderful bunch!

voxmonsterz asked: How the goddamn do I get good pictures of my fish.
Haha! Good question - it’s definitely not easy! I have a Canon Rebel xsi DSLR camera, and I use it on manual settings, with no flash. In order to do this, you need to have a camera where you can change the shutter speed and aperture. It’s hard to find the right light balance. After that, I edit the images (which are automatically saved as camera RAW) in photoshop, and upload them :) But I’ve had reasonable success with iphone cameras, too? It’s just harder for them to adjust to the quick movements of the fish.
this lil shit is about to push my phone onto the floor
Dorito has a little golden belt!
Noticed that the old photoset of Mr. B was making the rounds again! Here he is, in the typical pose. This shows how much bigger he’s gotten!
